The Holocaust- Information

Who did the Nazis take the lives of?

The Nazis took mostly Jews' lives, but they also took lives of children, homosexuals, gypsies, people who had mental or physical disabilities, and people who had different political beliefs than Hitler, the person who started it.

Before they got caught, they had to try to escape or somehow hide. If they got caught, they would be taken to a concentration camp where they couldn't escape. They died because they were either starved, tortured, or murdered.

What happened once they got to the concentration camps?

They were forced to wear striped uniforms, their head was shaved, and they had a number tattooed to them permanently.

This was not only done to the adults, but it was done to children and even infants, also.

How did the Nazis kill their victims?

The Nazis killed their victims by gas chambers, shooting them, torturing them, and making them starve.

Gas chambers were when the victims were put in a brick room with no windows, and the Nazis locked the door. Gas spread throughout the room, poisoning and killing them. For the shooting, they would arrange them all in a line and shoot the Jews and others one by one.

How did the Holocaust come to an end?

Thankfully, the Holocaust ended when American, British, and Russian troops came where the Holocaust was happening years later.

The Nazis lost the war.

What happened after the Holocaust?

After the Holocaust, most of the Jews who were still alive went to Israel and the other survivors immigrated to America.
